Host a Moms Night Out

The most impactful action you can take with Vote Mama this year is to organize a gathering with your friends to help elect more moms. This could be that karaoke night out you’ve been meaning to plan or that family picnic already on the calendar. You’ll not only raise money that will go out the door to our mamas’ campaigns, but you will be inviting your community into the work of building the political power of moms and helping to grow a movement of people who are empowered to take small, meaningful actions in a busy world.

It can be anything—a movie night, dinner, drinks, or even stay in and play board games.

Whatever you spend on your activity—donate the same amount to Vote Mama PAC, and we’ll send it straight to a mom’s campaign!

How big does my Moms Night Out need to be?

Your Moms Night Out can be any size! Think about the kind of gathering you want to organize and who comes to mind when you think about who you’d invite. Need ideas for different kinds of gatherings? See the next FAQ!

What type of activity should I organize?

We recommend organizing a gathering that feels like the right fit for you. Here are some ideas as inspiration: Moms Night Out: Dinner, karaoke, trivia, bingo, drinks at your local bar. Moms Night In: Book club, bingo, cards, knitting, movie night, collaging. Family Friendly: Picnic, brunch, potluck. Cocktail Party: Want to host something a bit fancier with a larger guest list? A cocktail party could be a great choice for you! Email us at mamafund@votemama.org and we can help you get started.

How does my Moms Night Out support Vote Mama?

When you host a gathering, everyone involved is encouraged to donate to Vote Mama through a custom donation page we provide to you. We will also make sure you have talking points so you feel comfortable talking about Vote Mama and asking people to donate (trust us, we know it can feel hard to ask for money, but we will make it fun and easy!). And if you’re ever stuck, you can always contact our team at mamafund@votemama.org.

What does the money I raise help to fund?

The money you raise through your gathering will support the Democratic moms Vote Mama PAC endorses each year. For example, every candidate on the ballot in November 2025 who received direct financial support from Vote Mama PAC won! It was this community that helped to fuel this impactful financial investment in our mamas’ campaigns.

Can I choose which candidates receive the donations I organize through my Moms Night Out?

All fundraising through this Moms Night Out program supports Vote Mama’s political strategy at-large and are therefore not earmarked for specific candidates. The primary reason for this is that our political team works tirelessly throughout the year to make sure that we are making the most strategic financial contributions to our candidates at any given moment, including both how much we’re sending and when. The goal of our Moms Night Out program is to build a community of people who are having fun with their friends while raising impactful dollars for our moms, and by having these gatherings taking place on a rolling basis, it offers us the opportunity to always have funds that we can pass along to our mamas’ campaigns.
